Recently there is......well, there are several kerfuffle going on.

So, circle jerk stuff, there is an artist who got laid off recently and venting about the unstable life.

Since they are a fairly well-known artist, there is some people thinking they are smart and said "Well, since you are a famous artist, maybe you can open a Patreon and let your followers support you" but with a ruder tone.

And that artist explained why that wouldn't work fairly well.

But to me, that logic sounds very familiar.

"Don't worry, people who love your stuff will eventually support you with their money"

"I'm helping you expanding your potential client"

"It's about experience, not about money"......well that one isn't really on the exact same topic, just adjacent.

From my experience, you can't really depend on the support site without other income.

You wanna know how much I made since I opened my Patreon, FANBOX and fantia?

About a month of minimun wage here, from the very beginning to now.

And I guarantee the next line these type of people will just be "Ah so you didn't work hard enough" and shit, just like those CEO they claim to hate so much.

At this point I've seen so much similiar words comes from person who supports the pirate behavior.

And claims that it doesn't hurt creatives that much......

Yet when they want to damage the company, the studio they hate, this is their go-to method.

Meanwhile when Korean comic author complain about such things with their experience, they used the "potential customer" and other pay with exposure logic to them.

So, which one? Did it hurt, or not?

If it didn't hurt, why boycott it by pirating it?

In these people's logic it helps them to gain potential fans, so wouldn't it make sense to just don't do it?

If it did hurt, then why do this to already overworked Korean comic author that you claim to love?

Be fucking real.

And the jackpot winner in the creative industry sure fucking helps.

"Yeah we got lucky, so it's fine to steal in our opinion"

"Haha, I got my bag anyway, so go ahead, I don't think stealing hurts"

Did the fact that makers of Vampire Survivor, Undertale, Minecraft, Balarto are lucky needs to be repeated till your eardrum broke?

At this point nearly everything is a fucking random number generator in this industry.

The only common reason behind those success are probably some famous VTuber or Youtuber picked up your game and liked it.

It's not that the word of mouth means nothing, but your common pirated stuff fans' mouth don't really have a meanful positive impact than well, famous Youtuber.

I mean, did you ever watch the interview with the maker of vampire survivor?

Bro's game blowed up after his game got featured by a famous TikToker.

A reddit user said: "Kill yourself."

With the enviroment now are basically surround by internet fame, it's not really a surprise most people will focus on marketing instead of making a game.

And some devs and studio will try......well they already tried that by all means.

Spitting nasty shit, dunking on other games, making absurd advertisement......

And then you're standing here, wondering why everything is gone to shit?

You know, I think the phrase "Fuck you, pay me" fits not just comissioner who had thousands of reasons to avoid paying.

It applies to everyone, as far as I can tell, your normal jackass doesn't want to pay people and wants to have everything as well.
